Reno Activities!
For the past several years, I have taken part in as many of the activities of Reno's Silver Dollar Court as I can. Unfortunately, that's still only a few, but I have certainly developed a strong feeling of support for this organization and the wonderful people in it. Reno's Court is a model for how the transgendered community can reach out to an existing gay/lesbian/bisexual organization, and have that extended hand be taken and held. Our community has been welcomed into the Court, has been honored with titles and awards, and has taken an active role in Court activities.
The Silver Dollar Court, as part of the International Imperial Court System, is a charitable fundraising organization. Last year, the Court raised over $60,000 for area charities! And I can't imagine a more fun
way to raise money than doing drag. But the leaders of the Court; the Board and the Royal Family; work incredibly hard all year to make these events happen.
