This was Dana's first Ducal Ball, and what a thrill it was! The Silver Dollar Court has embraced the Reno transgender community, and they showed their pride in themselves and in us by inviting four of "Leona's Girls" (Leona is the wonderful owner of "The Hidden Woman," a small transformation salon that is the center of the TG community.) to carry the flags down the aisle to the stage to open the event. It was a public showing of support and unity that I hope gets duplicated all over the country.
(I hope someone who views this page has a photo of us carrying those flags or standing on stage with them while
the national anthems of the USA and Canada were being played! I'd like to add that here.)
